BioIn January 2008, a young female greyhound/lurcher was found abandoned and injured in Worcestershire.
After receiving proper veterinary care, she was brought to the shelter where I volunteer as a dog walker. I went to meet her in the isolation block, and it was love at first sight. I was bowled over by her sunny nature and sweet disposition. Despite everything she'd been through, her tail never stopped wagging. I knew she had to come home with me!
Originally called "Stitch", I renamed her Freya after the Scandinavian Goddess of fertility, love and beauty.
This journal documents her progress, as she makes the transition from kennel dog to much loved pet.
